The Caucasus region of Central Asia holds a wealth of unexplored territories. Wedged between two seas, surrounded by Europe's largest mountain range and straddling two continents, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia are home to some extraordinarily beautiful scenery and incredibly hospitable people. Journey from the fascinating Old City of Baku in Azerbaijan through the quaint towns and glorious hillsides of Georgia before finishing the adventure in Armenia's laidback capital, Yerevan. Mixing isolated villages, populous capital cities, ancient castles, breathtaking vistas, abundant natural resources and a flashy nouveau riche, this region of Caucasia offers up a variety of surprising contrasts, fascinating sights and stunning landscapes.

Days 7-8 Mtskheta – Kazbegi - Gudauri

Another day, another glorious set of hillside scenery. Take in stunning mountain ranges and deep valleys along the Georgian Military Highway, the one-time trade highway between Georgia and Russia. Pop into the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral of Mtskheta, where the robe of Jesus Christ is reportedly buried.

Day 12 Gyumri – Mastara – Talin – Yerevan

Visit the atmospheric church of Mastara while on a city tour of Gyumri. Then travel on to the seventh-century cathedral in Talin before making tracks to Yerevan.

Day 13 Yerevan

Discover all angles of Yerevan on a walking tour. Then there's ample time to explore on your own terms - there are plenty of great monuments and museums to discover and some wonderful people-watching to be had.

Days 14-15 Goris

Ever been in a place that has been home to human settlements since the Stone Age? We'll today's the day! Explore the medieval town of Gorsis and the mountainous scenery and rocky outcrops of surrounding Tatev. Don't miss visiting the fascinating stone pyramids of Old Kores.

Days 16-17 Yerevan

Make tracks back to Yerevan via the stunning Geghard Monastery, a World Heritage site that's carved into a mountain. Then visit the pagan temple of Garni before arriving in Armenia's capital, where there's one last night to soak in the atmosphere of this wonderful town. Perhaps get the group together for a final dinner meal of delicious local cuisine.
