Bolivia Highlights SummaryAdd to Shortlist
Built in a canyon, the unique and bewtiching city of La Paz is filled with steep, cobbled streets, fascinating markets, evident tradition and captivating sights.
Explore the strange and stunning landscapes of the Salar de Uyuni by 4x4. Infinite blue skies meet endless white salt on what was once a prehistoric lake, making for plenty of fun and fantastical photo opportunities. Continue on to Laguna Colorado – a shallow salt lake of magnificent red hues dotted by bright pink flamingos.
The loveliness of Potosi - one of the highest and more fascinating cities in the world - is mirrored by the harshness of its mines and mining history.
The delightful city of Sucre impresses visitors with its historic charm, indigenous roots and calm atmosphere, and is the perfect place to ease into the Bolivian way of life.
With its high altitude and strong indigenous roots, La Paz has a quiet dignity and is a real cultural gem of South America.

Bolivia Highlights, May 2014
Loved the Salt flats but could have left going Potosi and Sucre. There would need to be an activity in these 2 places. Due to safety the mines are no longer recommended in Potosi. There needs to be some activity to make this place relevant ie cooking class or home stay visit. Same with Sucre even though it was a city where you could do more things. You could add a trip to the Amazon like what we did in Peru.
