Tasmania may be just across the ditch from mainland Australia, but when it comes to standout scenery, unique wildlife and intriguing history, this island is a world away. This 9-day adventure will weave you through must-sees and lesser-known treasures, with a local leader to provide expert knowledge at every step. Set off from the historic city of Launceston, hike the coastal trails of Narawntapu and Rocky Cape national parks and explore the prehistoric Tarkine Rainforest. Hit the markets in Hobart, sample the homegrown flavours of Bruny Island, learn about the region’s colonial past and explore a rugged, wild coastline shaped over the centuries by the southern seas.

The Tasmanian Explorer exceeded expectations with stunning coastlines, beautiful national parks, quaint villages and modern cities. Our group leader Anthony was born in Rosebery, raised in Hobart, and has worked all over Tasmania. His ability to weave personal anecdotes, stories, music, and surprises into the itinerary was magical. Absolutely outstanding. As usual we had a fun group of well-traveled fellow travelers. The island under down under definitely didn’t disappoint.

Quality tour with way more in the itinerary than expected. Our tour guide Anthony was brilliant at hosting and his local knowledge and inviting, calm personality made this trip both comfortable and memorable. Tasmania has so much to offer and this tour covers so much of all the magnificent regions - Coastal, Tarkine, Wine and Colonial. My first tour with Intrepid and I will be booking with them again. The small group of just 11 and all the meals, accomodation and almost all entry fees included made it easy to just sit back and enjoy although this is a busy and full schedule 9 day tour with a good balance of hikes and little luxuries. Value for money. Anthony was an exceptional host - professional, organised, knowledgable, friendly, approachable and went the extra mile to ensure we all enjoyed our tour. He is certainly working the dream job for him and it shows. Intrepid are fortunate to have him representing them he made our tour. Thank you Anthony I truly believe our trip was elevated to the next level when we were allocated you as our Leader.

This tour was very inclusive for all and our guide Keygan is friendly and went above and beyond to make us all welcomed and comfortable. He has amazing local knowledge and local stories (and some good jokes) I enjoyed all the inclusions provided by Intrepid. I loved exploring the natural environments - the rainforests were beautiful. I look forward to my next tour.

The Tasmanian Explorer trip was a great experience! I had no idea how beautiful the countryside would be, and the variety of areas was amazing: museums & small towns, seashores & mountains, temperate rainforests, rolling agricultural areas, and lots of unique animals to be seen. Be sure to bring good hiking shoes and trekking poles if you need them for steep walking.
