Why you'll love this trip
  • Experience the local hospitality during your homestay with a charming local family in Moulay Idriss – where you can enjoy a hearty homecooked feast by your host and learn about their culture.
  • Embrace the Atlantic breeze in the coastal town of Tangier and see the vivid blue hues of Chefchaouen over sunset, while you explore the houses and laneways of this surreal city.
  • See the impressive Roman ruins of Volubilis, which rise from the Jebel Zerhoun Plain, and get lost in the charm of the zigzagging lanes in the once imperial capital of Meknes.
  • Relive a medieval past in bustling Fes. While many tourists get lost in the labyrinthine streets of the medina, you'll have a local guide to show you the way.
  • Where else would you find drummers, dancers, fortune tellers, jugglers, street food vendors and old medicine men all in one place? In Marrakech of course, exploring the acclaimed Jemaa el-Fnaa.
  • By travelling on this trip, you’ll directly support our Intrepid Foundation partner, Education for All. Donations help them support girls in the High Atlas Mountains through secondary school, bringing a generation of women out of the cycle of illiteracy, poverty and early marriage.

Is this trip right for you?
  • Ramadan will be from 10 March to 08 April in 2024. Travelling during this period can be a rewarding cultural experience, however some regular services may not be available during the daytime, such as restaurants or coffee bars, and occasionally travel can be disrupted by events. Your leader will adjust the itinerary accordingly, but please consider your travel arrangements carefully before booking travel for this period.
  • The trains can get busy at peak periods, so we’d recommend packing lightly and compactly to make sure you can get on and off the train easily and quickly. You'll need to be able to handle your luggage through busy train stations.

Intrepid travel is well named. It is for adventurous spirits who want to see the real Morocco — dive into the local history, meet the local inhabitants, eat the real food, experience the glorious chaos and contradiction. Our fellow travelers were congenial — some of us will surely stay in touch!

I was expecting a better organization and communities from intrepid. The trip North Marocco adventure was advertised as fast pace but we left every morning after 0830 and not guiding visit in Marrakech was a minus of this trip

Intrepid north Morocco tour was fabulous. Our guide Mustapha was very knowledgeable and organised. We saw medinas, mosques, ruins tardiness, cous cous and lots of cats! Great way to experience the flavour of Morocco.

This is my second time with Intrepid, i am very satisfied with the experience. Most accommodations are very well chosen, the transportation is excellent. i would have liked more activities and site-seeing (whereas it was mostly shopping and walking in the medinas)
