Why you'll love this trip
  • Experience local hospitality at a homestay with a charming local family in Moulay Idriss – if you’re lucky, you might even get an invite to a cooking demonstration.
  • Relive a glorious medieval past in Fes city. While many tourists get lost in the labyrinthine streets of the medina, you'll have a local guide to show you the way.
  • See for yourself the vivid blue hues of Chefchaouen while you explore the houses and laneways of this surreal city.
  • Need a break from your wanders around the narrow streets of Meknes? Replenish your energy with the camel burger cooked right in front of you at a restaurant in the medina.
  • Where else would you find drummers, dancers, fortune tellers, jugglers, street food vendors, and old medicine men in one place? Why, in Marrakech, exploring the acclaimed Djemaa el-Fna Square.
  • By travelling on this trip, you’ll directly support our Intrepid Foundation partner, Education for All. Donations help them support girls in the High Atlas Mountains through secondary school, bringing a generation of women out of the cycle of illiteracy, poverty and early marriage.

This is my first time to go to Morocco and I love that this trip gave me the opportunity to have a 'taste' of what the northern part of Morocco has to offer. For me the highlights of the trip is the shopping at the medina in Fez where I bought a top quality leather bag and cotton shawl and had the chance to have a sweetish lamb tangine in a upscale restaurant hidden somewhere in the medina . I also love the vibrant energy of Marrakech - scenic and cosmopolitan. I'll definitely be back here next year!

I would travel with Intrepid again. The Morocco trip was excellent and a lot of fun.

Our guide Khaled was excellent. He helped us know the country better, arranged home meals on several evenings and arranged for us extra stops that we requested, not included by Intrepid. He walked with us through several places, where Intrepid thought we should fend for ourselves. Intrepid itself could work on adding more inclusions to the trip. For example, there are free days in Marrakech, but everything offered is "optional" and not competitive. A visit to Ouzoud falls, for example, is offered by Intrepid for $220. Booked locally, a private custom tour with additional stops for 1 person is $150, and the price goes down for more travelers.

Intrepid travel is well named. It is for adventurous spirits who want to see the real Morocco — dive into the local history, meet the local inhabitants, eat the real food, experience the glorious chaos and contradiction. Our fellow travelers were congenial — some of us will surely stay in touch!

An awe inspiring tour. Every city offers something different but they all have colour, culture and bustling medinas. As a solo traveller I was a little concerned about my safety but with a great Intrepid guide (Jawad) I soon relaxed and enjoyed every element of the tour. No hesitation in recommending this trip. I added a couple more days in Marrakech as there is so much to see in the city and day trips too.
