Ever notice how it’s the littlest moments in our travels that hit the hardest? Take Janine, in our cover photo snapped in Kenya. potting elephants, zebras, giraffes on safari was a highlight of her trip, but it was this moment with activist and educator Dr Hellen Nkuraiya – whose work empowering Maasai girls intersects with work Janine does back home in Australia – that will stay with her forever.

Maybe it’s no surprise to find people so often at the heart of those moments. In this issue, we celebrate moments like these and the people behind them.
