Days 1-2 Buenos Aires

Become acquainted with the history and culture of Buenos Aires over a chat and a plate of parrilla (slow grilled meat) in one of the city’s famed restaurants. Take a tour of the colourful barrios, learn how to bake empanadas (stuffed pastries) or lend a hand at a neighbourhood soup kitchen.

Day 3 Estancia stay

Spend a day with a local family on a working Argentine cattle ranch, learning about the activities that go into running such a large operation. Be treated to a traditional asado barbeque and sip on hot cups of maté, Argentina’s national drink.

Days 4-5 Mendoza

Explore the tree-lined streets of Mendoza, pick up some local specialties at the Mercado Central for a picnic and spend an evening on lively Av Aristides Villanueva. Then travel to gorgeous Malbec country and spend some time at an Argentinean vineyard with a local sommelier.

Days 6-7 Valle de Uco

Sample provincial life in Valle de Uco and help with food preparation on an overnight homestay with a local family. Partake in activities such as picking fruit fresh from the trees, visiting a small winery for the local drop and making bread. Then hop on an overnight bus to Bariloche.

Days 8-9 Bariloche

Delight in the rich cuisine, local brews and sumptuous delicacies of Bariloche. Be shown all the nooks and crannies of the town on a walking tour, visit an artisan chocolate maker for some sweet samples, taste smoked fish and locally-brewed beers and savour a tasting of local cheeses.

Days 10-11 Buenos Aires

Return to Argentina’s irrepressible capital for a final night of food indulgence. There’s myriad food options in this bustling capital – check out authentic Italian pizza, tuck into one of the country’s renowned steaks or seek out a small bar and nibble on some specialty bar snacks over a drink or two. Buenos Aires is also famous for its tango and live music scene, so perhaps finish up this food adventure at a live music venue or tango show.
