Real Beijing Gourmet

You’ll meet your food-loving local guide and begin a Beijing food adventure to remember. Take public transit to one of the best hutong areas in Beijing, and walk the bustling alleys to gain real insight into the life of local hutong families.
Your local guide will recommend some local snacks for sampling, and will explore the stories behind tasty treats like soybean pudding, honey yogurt, and Chinese egg omelet. There’s an endless supply of local specialties to sample as we eat our way through the biggest produce market in the centre of Beijing.
Along the way you’ll meet local culinary masters, like noodle and pancake makers, learn about different vegetables and spices, and maybe even pick up a trick or two about authentic Chinese cooking.
We’ll give ourselves a chance to digest with a picturesque walk along Houhai Lake before arriving at our final stop – a traditional courtyard that will play host to our dumpling-making lesson. Here’s your chance to become a dumpling ninja; learn the art of dumpling making from a local host, and finish off with a dumpling dinner.
After dinner, we’ll end our Beijing food tour in a convenient spot – perfect for exploring the Houhai bar and café area or the Nanluoguxiang area for a drink on a rooftop bar in the hutong. Your local guide will be happy to provide recommendations for a great night out.
