Itinerary
We find our bearings in the heart of the West End before heading off on foot across Regent Street on our London day tour. We quickly leave the bright lights & gaze of Eros as we enter the area where the rich and famous hang out. Wander exclusive Jermyn Street full of famous gentlemen’s tailoring boutiques & see where the Queen buys her cheese and where one of first royal warrants was awarded.
Diving through stunning Victorian shopping arcades, we emerge by Hatchards(the oldest book shop in London) and enter the legendary Fortnum & Mason food emporium. Holding Royal warrants for over 150 years, the staff still wear tailcoats, and deliveries are made by horse & carriage! We can see the Royal Art Academy (home of the famous Summer Exhibition), before returning to Jermyn street, where we will discover more suppliers to the royal household. We can then find out more about St James Palace and the exclusive gentleman clubs of the area.
A short walk away is the famous Ritz Hotel. See the favourite nightclub of Prince William and other young royals before jumping in a black cab to Buckingham palace. We might be lucky enough to encounter the famous changing of the Guards, taking in tales both modern and old. Walking down the Mall, part of the royal wedding route, we pass Clarence house, home to Prince Charles and London residence of Prince William and Harry. Stroll through beautiful St James park one of many royal parks. Hopefully we will see the resident Pelicans and we can guarantee great views of the London Eye.
Heading through Horse Guards Parade, we pass the Cenotaph & Downing Street. Cutting through Whitehall, we get a glimpse of the famous front door at No.10, and we also see where Churchill planned his war strategy with his Cabinet. Walking to Westminster Abbey, we escape into the quiet squares & ancient back streets of Westminster before emerging to the Houses of Parliament. We finish at the Jewel Tower, where you have the opportunity to buy tickets for Parliament, Westminster Abbey, where the wedding of Kate Middleton to Prince William took place or simply have a coffee and savour the end of a perfect morning on a London day tour.
