Itinerary

Hit up Barranco for a Lima food tour of epic proportions. Experience the gastronomic powerhouse of Peruvian cuisine that has shot to popularity in recent years (although they’ve been owning the culinary world for ages).
We chose Barranco as the district to explore for our Lima food tour because it’s awesome. A bohemian district, it’s full of tradition and history, and is located only fifteen minutes from Miraflores. Barranco is also an ideal place to discover vintage Lima, with fine streets, small colonial squares, and an antique spirit that will capture your attention.
Immersed in the old colonial sceneries and classic architecture, we’ll wander Barranco in search of local flavours (they won’t be hard to find). We’ll taste famous antichuchos and learn about their history and role in local gastronomy, and indulge in one of Peru’s most famous dishes – ceviche – a delicious burst of flavour made with fresh fish marinated in lime juice (among other tasty things).
As we continue along our Lima tour, we’ll really get into the vibe of Barranco, passing by the public library, the love-inspiring traditional bridge of sighs, romantic boulevards, and great ocean views.  Since our tour is during the evening, we’ll be meandering and mixing with locals on their night out, keeping pace with them and living the local experience.
When it’s time for dessert, you’ll get to taste the yummy purple corn dessert called mazamorra (a local classic), and the cherry on top of this Lima food tour will be our final stop in a vibrant local bar, where you can prepare your own Pisco sour! Feel free to spend the rest of your evening in the atmospheric bar, where there’s often live music or cool locals Limeños to chat with.
