This trip requires a decent level of fitness, as there's a lot of hiking and walking involved. In some instances you may be hiking for up to six hours in a day. Please remember to bring sturdy walking shoes and drink plenty of water during your trek.
Due to the high altitude of many of the places we visit, the air is thinner and some people can suffer altitude sickness. Some people aren’t affected at all, but if you are, be sure to drink plenty of water and don’t push yourself too hard. Please see the ‘Health’ section of the trip notes for more important information about altitude sickness.

Overall we have been pleased with the trips we have done with Peregrine and Intrepid. We find that the guides (including most local guides) they use are knowledgeable and helpful. Bhutan is a country that is well worth a visit, friendly people, lots of impressive scenery and certainly the guide and bus driver we had were excellent.

Bhutan was an amazing experience. The natural environment is very important to its people. Its focus on the happiness of its people as a measure of how well its society is functioning is very novel but inspiring.
