Great trip. Come with the right expectations. This is not a comfort trip, it's an adventure. You will see magnificent landscapes and animals, but you will have long drives on bad roads, you might camp during rain and you should be able to do "bushy bushy". Then you will be fine.

This trip is grueling. If you are not comfortable with setting your alarm for 4 or 5 am each day, long days being tossed around in the overland truck, predominantly cold showers and mostly no or primitive toilets, please reconsider this trip style.

Gorillas & Game Parks

If you are an active person, this trip is NOT for you. I understand estimated it and generally regret joining. I don't want to take away from Intrepid or the staff. That was top notch but if you don't mind LONG hours in the truck, endless speedbumps then this is for you. The main attraction (gorillas) was awesome but the mountain hike was a big disappointment. Speed was determined by some very overweight people. I don't know what Intrepid could change. Simply put, active people stay away. Leave it for the out of shape.

Premium Rwanda & Uganda
Crystal · Traveled February 2023
Overall the trip was good due to the itinerary. I did not get the value of a premium experience at all and would not recommend. The most disappointing thing was lack of clear communication from our premium guides. This was my 4th Intrepid trip (1st premium) and I have had nothing put positive experiences. Unfortunately, that was not the case with this trip.

I will write a review, but I will write it directly onto a website myself, meanwhile I will also email Intrepid directly about all the issues we had with this trip.
