The African wild comes alive at sunrise, so there will be some early starts. The thrill of spotting your first lion or rhino will be well worth any loss of sleep!
Our purpose-built overland vehicles allow for excellent game viewing, equipped with large sliding windows. They have no air-conditioning, however, so they can get dusty and hot at times.
The going can be slow over the long distances and often bumpy roads. A little bit of patience will go a long way towards your enjoyment of this beautiful land!
This is a participatory camping trip, so team spirit is key. You'll be expected to help out with camp setup, food preparation and cleaning.
As the early bird catches the worm, the early camper sights the animals. There will be many early starts either to make use of the better safari time or to beat the morning traffic on long travel days.
Some passengers on this trip will have been travelling together prior to the start of your trip. To see what you're missing out on check out our Explore Southern Africa trip.

The overal experience was incredible. One thing I noticed and I feel it impacted our time, was that our driver did not at all help with any other duties besides driving. Danny was never to be seen from the time we arrived until we needed to leave the next day. He never helped with any clean up or packing or setting up of tents. Kevin and David had been left to do it all themselves, which then had us help out. As a team we didn’t mind, but Kevin would be up early to make us food and up late cleaning up with David. We all noticed this early on so we all helped out and it worked well. But I do feel Danny doesn’t know what a TEAM means and felt he didn’t have to help at all. The food provided to us and the preparation and the meals given to us, 10/10 Kevin provided delicious meals and surprised us every day with a new meal. He has some real cooking skills and is amazing. Together David and Kevin provided me with a tour I will never forget and will recommend this trip to everyone I know. A real team effort with Kevin, David and the 21 of us in the tour for the first 9 days, then 11 of us for the next 9 days.
