We partner with many international and local organisations to tap into their areas of expertise and to ensure we’re addressing our social and environmental impacts adequately. We’re stronger when we do things together, right?

Intrepid is a member or associate of the following organisations:

Rethink Orphanages

We are proud to be on the Rethink Orphanages steering committee. Rethink is a cross-sector network that aims to prevent the unnecessary institutionalisation of children by shifting the way Australia engages with overseas aid and development.

World Animal Protection

We’ve worked closely with World Animal Protection (WAP) to develop our animal welfare guidelines, which are now integrated into our Responsible Travel policy. WAP is an international non-profit animal welfare organisation that has been in operation for over 30 years. Their vision is of a world where animal welfare matters and animal cruelty has ended.

UN Global Compact

Intrepid is a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact – a framework used to align a company’s operations and strategies with universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.

CBL Markets

Intrepid works with CBL Markets to source internationally accredited carbon offset projects.

Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade

Intrepid is partnering with the Australian government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) overseas aid program on one of its funding initiatives – The Business Partnership Platform (BPP). The partnership seeks to incorporate the private sector in the delivery of aid and development, with a view to creating partnerships and shared value opportunities that achieve economic and social impact.

Australian Volunteers International

Our Myanmar Tourism Business Hub initiative is an innovative shared value partnership between Australian Volunteers International (AVI), DFAT and Intrepid Travel. This partnership will promote sustainable economic growth by enabling Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to deliver Sustainable Experience Rich Travel (SERT) products and capitalise on the booming Myanmar tourism market.

World Wildlife Fund

Our community-based ecotourism project in Nepal is being delivered in partnership with DFAT and World Wildlife Fund for Nature Australia (WWF). This project aims to establish community-based ecotourism in the southern ‘buffer zone’ of Chitwan National Park, providing income generation for Chitwan residents and new experiences for Intrepid travellers.
