This trip includes several long travel days including the overnight sleeper train in the evening of day 5 (approx. 15 hrs) and Varanasi to Lumbini (Nepal) on day 9 (approx. 10 hours) Some patience will go a long way towards your enjoyment here. Sit back, relax, watch the scenery go by, and embrace long distance travelling like a local.
This trip crosses the India-Nepal border on Day 9.
Long distance and overnight trains can often be delayed and occasionally cancelled due to heavy fog between Dec-Feb.Â
Nepal and north India can get surprisingly cold in winter, please pack accordingly so you aren't caught out!
1. This trip starts with a Welcome Meeting in Delhi on day 1 at 1pm.
2. A single supplement is available on this trip and is applicable for all nights with the exception of the overnight train.
3. Using mud pack therapy the Archaeological Survey of India is planning to clean the four small canopies around the main dome of the Taj Mahal from the start of April 2018. This will be followed by the cleaning of the main dome but that could take some time as ASI is yet to calculate its load bearing capacity. The ASI’s science branch officials have stated that cleaning the four canopies will take approximately 2 months while main dome cleaning will be completed in phases. We will continue to update as information becomes available.

This trip has an excellent itinerary with a wonderful variety of activities. If you choose this trip, get ready to be immersed in the local culture and be busy seeing and doing so much! Many early mornings, but it is worth it when you are getting up to do things like watch a sunrise over the ganges. Our guide was excellent and willing to share so much of his life, country ,and culture with us. Overall a great experience!

Would defiantly reccomend this journey to anyone wanting to visit the highlights of India & Nepal, so many different experiences packed into 15 days, yet it feels like you have enough time in each place. There is no way we could have had the opportunities to do what we did with intrepid on our own. I would defiantly reccomend doing it Delhi-Kathmandu (not the other way around) & try and get our amazing guide Alan! We will make the journey so much fun.
