This tour covers all the important sites including Abu Simbel which is not to be missed. Our leader Ahmed was exceptional and the group of 12 was a perfect number. Everything is so cheap, we felt very safe and our presence as tourists was very much appreciated. Tourist numbers were still down which meant short or no queues and many photos without people in the shot. Drink bottled water only, avoid salads and you can't go wrong. Go now before the crowds return. Be prepared - crazy traffic, dusty, pollution, very persistent traders, but this is a small price to pay.

For someone over 60, the Intrepid 'comfort' trips may be a bit too active for some. Otherwise, the people who organize Intrepid, their guides and the people who travel with Intrepid are well worth spending time with and learning from.
