From rubbing shoulders with prehistoric-looking giant tortoises and marine iguanas, to gazing up in wonder at the spectacular blue-footed boobies’ synchronised fishing technique, the Galapagos offers the chance to see an abundance of rare creatures at close range. It was such an amazing trip. The people we met were lovely, the places we saw were stunning and it seemed like the Galápagos were a world of their own. It was such a wonderful experience. Would definitely recommend it.

Galapagos Venture is an excellent value for the location and the length of stay, in comparison to other tour companies. We stayed on the islands and were able to experience more to the island life and the local people. The included activities allowed us to get the most sought after sites in the Galapagos such as sea lions, giant tortoises, giant turtles, marine iguanas, and many types of birds. We hiked around volcanoes and beaches, snorkeled with sea lions and sea turtles and ate loads of good grub. Be prepared for rough 2.5 hour speedboat rides between the islands, even for those people that don't usually get seasick. Bring more sunscreen than you think you need and reapply and reapply. You'll need warm weather clothing as well as rain protection for Quito (and you may need warm clothing for the nights in Galapagos as well). If you wish to book any of the optional activities in Quito, then do so before you leave for the trip or be spontaneous like I did. I note that the optional activities are priced for a group of 2 or more, as a solo traveller you would be asked to pay more.
