Get off the beaten track in the Cardamom Mountains, trekking to rapids and a waterfall and staying overnight with a local family
Ko Chang offers the perfect finish to your Asian adventure. Laze around on beautiful palm-lined shores or go snorkelling with tropical fish
There are two homestays on this trip: one in the remote community of Banteay Chhmar (Day 2), and one in Chi Phat in the Cardamom Mountains (Day 8). Intrepid got us into the heart of Cambodia by offering a varied itinerary, an ideal guide and experiences we'd not have found on our own. We got to understand the value of tourism to off-the-beaten-track locations (while never feeling pushed to make purchases), and get first-hand accounts of the country's history--both its grand ancient past and its more recent horrors. The trip was a wonderful mix of pure pleasure and meaningful education, a riot of sensual input around every corner.

A fantastic way to see 'real Cambodia' as well as the major tourist spots. There is a bit of travel involved but the means of transport and accommodation are quite comfortable!
