Enjoy the freedom and flexibility to explore the Outback in a small group
All new and exclusive to Intrepid Travel, this 5-day small group tour is your chance to meet the outback on your own terms. No set itinerary, no rushing around to pre-established timeframes – just you, your small group, and a well-versed local leader exploring the Red Centre at your own pace. Get to all the big name attractions – Uluru/Kata Tjuta, Kings Canyon, Palm Valley, the Western MacDonnell Ranges – and perhaps visit lesser-known sites like Rainbow Valley, Owen Springs, Ruby Gap and the Eastern MacDonnell Ranges.
Meet the curious inhabitants of the Outback Camel Farm
Admire the breathtaking formations of Kata Tjuta
Enjoy a morning walk around Uluru (Ayers Rock)
Check out the rarely travelled Eastern MacDonnell Ranges
All four nights are camping, and one may be bush camping depending on what the group feels like and how we are tracking
The Red Centre can be very hot during the summer time and in the winter, below freezing at night. Ensure you have prepared for the weather
The idea of this 5 day itinerary is to be flexible whilst still seeing the major highlights of the Red Centre
This itinerary is valid for departures from 20 March 2017 to 31 March 2018. View the itinerary for departures between 01 April 2018 - 31 March 2019

An absolutely incredible experience and a 'must do' trip. It surpassed my expectations on all levels. The trip was with Adventure tours which is an affiliate of Intrepid. The only aspect which want clear was the amount of travellers, i use intrepid as it caters for small groups, our number reached 20 travellers which was a bit larger than I expected. It wasn't a huge issue. The guides were so knowledgeable and gave so much insight into the region, culture and cuisine through discussion and commentary as well as through actions. The trip catered for the environmentally conscious with recycling at campsites, there was very limited food wastage and packaging, cultural aspects and sensitivities were discussed and the history and culture shared openly with all travellers. I absolutely loved my experience on the trip and I rate it (and the staff) very highly. Thanks for such a wonderful life experience in the great Outback.
