Due to the high altitude of many of places we visit, the air is thinner and some people can suffer altitude sickness. Some people aren’t affected at all, but if you are, be sure to drink plenty of water and don’t push yourself too hard. If possible, arrive a few days early to allow yourself time to acclimatise. Please see the ‘Health’ section of the Essential Trip information (ETI) for more important information about altitude sickness.

On June 30th Peruvian authorities released a new list of regulations for visiting Machu Picchu, which came into effect from July 1st. The main points impacting our visits are:
1. There is now a time limit to visit the citadel. Morning visitors must exit the site by 12pm and afternoon visitors by 4.30pm
2. Visitors must complete a designated circuit, in one direction only. Exiting and re-entering the site is not permitted and, upon completion, visitor must exit the site. There is no allowance for personal exploration of the site any longer.
Overall we support these changes as they help preserve this invaluable archaeological site. While this somehow restricts the amount of time we are now allowed to spend in Machu Picchu, we’ll do all possible to maximise your time there and make sure you have the best possible experience.
Our Majestic Peru trips score an average of 4.43 out of 5 based on 83 reviews in the last year.
Magnificient trip - the first week is full on and eases off in week two. Remember to take loads of snacks/water for the long bus trips. Highly recommend getting altitude pills for Puno - Machu Picchu and stay hydrated. Shop around for ATM's - BCP seem to charge zero fees; others up to 19sols. We had an amazing leader - Cris, who is a highly thoughtful, competent and considerate person. This is a truly amazing package packed full of once in a lifetime experiences and a must do!

This trip allows you to visit some of the top ten high lights and must see sights in Peru in a short space of time, like Lake Titicaca, Nazca lines, Arequipa, Cusco, Machu Picchu, experience of a one day hike on the Inca trial and other Inca sites and temples like Moray site and Sacsaywamán. It was extremely well organised and the accommodation was well appointed, clean and comfortable. The transport was well maintained and the local drivers so friendly and helpful. Great trip covers so much gives you a really taste of Peruvian way of life and their food and the gastro experience was exciting and interested even if they are trying a bit too hard in some places. Couldn't recommend this trip enough....everyone should take the time to visit...a fabulous country with people who are colourful and always smiling....one tip learn some Spanish helps improve the experience ....
