Mexico is a fantastic travel destination with so much variety of scenery and activities. Be sure to prepare for amazing swimming and snorkelling in the cenotas and the sea and bring along solid walking shoes for the various climbs and hikes!!. Read up on the History and Culture of the areas that you visit - there is such variation in the regions of Mexico so be prepared. Don't expect Tex Mex type food. Real mexican food is different to that. It is possible to eat well as a vegetarian in Mexico although there are a lot of meat dishes. The Guacamole is the best!! So much more of the country to visit so will go east from Mexico City next time.
