Ride rafts on the Ganges, then camp, hike and bike through the Himalayan foothills on this adventure
The Uttarakhand province of Northern India is stunningly beautiful in both spirit and essence. It is here you see the harmonious balance between nature, humanity and religion, flowing in the water of the Ganges as the Ganga aarti cleanses body and soul indiscriminately. Chandrashila continues this tradition, speaking volumes about the Hindu dedication to worship as pilgrims hike 3,680 metres (12,073 feet) high to Tungnath. On this excursion, you’ll ride white water rapids down the Ganges, hike through Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary and cycle through to the temple studded town of Gopeshwar – expanding your mind and body into new territory.
Spend the days wandering through the Himalayan foothills by foot, bike and white water raft before spending the night telling tales under the starlit skies.
Rishikesh has been a hub for spirituality since the Beatles rocked up in the '60s – discover why after enjoying the Ganga aarti along with yoga and meditation sessions.
This trip involves trekking, mountain bike riding and kayaking. Please ensure your fitness is at a level you can take part in these activities.
This trip travels into the Himalayas, where temperatures can get very low, particularly overnight. We don’t run the trip in winter, but ensure that you’re well prepared for cold weather at any time of the year (particularly from November to March). The sun can also be strong at higher altitudes, so make sure you bring a hat, sunscreen and any other relevant sun protection.
We visit a number of temples on this trip, which requires a certain level of modesty. Please bring clothes that cover the arms and pants/skirts that go past the knees. A light scarf is also a good idea for covering shoulders and arms when it’s hot.
