We send over 100,000 travelers on small group adventures each year. At the end of their trip we ask them to rate their overall trip experience. Intrepid Travel's average overall experience score is 4.75/5.

Average leader feedback

We also ask each traveler to rate their local leader, taking into account their enthusiasm, approachability, local knowledge, organization and communications skills. Our leaders around the world score an average of 4.73/5.

We’ve come a long way since our humble beginnings in 1989. What started as two backpackers with a dream has grown into the world's largest small-group adventure tour company, carrying 100,000+ travelers on 1,000+ trips across every continent. In the past three decades, we’ve learned what travelers really want: a mix of classic highlights and local secrets, and an authentic, real-life experience.

Responsible Travel

We ensure our trips give back to the places and people we visit: we carbon-offset our trips, we support local communities through our not-for-profit, The Intrepid Foundation, and we were the first global tour operator to end elephant rides. Most recently, we’ve become a B Corp, joining a global movement of innovative companies using business as a force for good.
