Almost everything is for sale in the backstreets of the city, from wedding paraphernalia to fireworks. In the afternoon travel to Agra in a private air-conditioned vehicle.
Watch as the morning light washes over the Taj Mahal, changing the marble from dusky purple to pale blue to gold-white. Worked on by over 20,000 builders and artisans, this awesome structure is testament to the Emperor Shah Jahan's love for his second wife, Mumtaz. Discover Agra's other impressive monument, the Red Fort, an imperial Mughal city that houses a palace, mosque and harem quarters within its 2.5 kilometre long walls.
