TRIP CHANGES FOR 2018:
From 1st January 2018 this trip will become 17 days long to enable us to enjoy Kyrgyzstan at a more relaxed pace given the long distances between destinations. There are some changes to the itinerary as a result of this, with added stops in Kyzyl Oi and Kok Bel in Kyrgyzstan. We have also replaced Shakhrisabz with Gijduvan in order to continue to have an authentic experience of small town Uzbekistan after the recent renovations of the historic centre in Shakhrisabz. To enable this trip to better match up with our other tours in the region, the start day has been changed to Tuesday.
Uncover all facets of Samarkand's incredible Registan. This much-photographed public square is one of the true pinnacles of Islamic architecture
Experience for yourself the legend that is Central Asian hospitality
Marvel at the beautiful Song Kol Lake, where in mid-summer you may see flocks of sheep, goats and herds of horses watched over by nomadic herdsmen and their families
Stay overnight in a yurt.
Central Asia is a very remote destination, perfect for intrepid travellers in the true sense of the word! You will venture well away from cities, right off the beaten track.
Accommodation may be more basic than what you are used to, and shower and toilet facilities will be limited in some places. But the rewards of living in true local style in this far-out part of the world are immeasurable.
There will be some long days of driving, often over rough terrain, which can be tiring and will require patience. Take the chance to sit back, marvel at the scenery and embrace the slower pace of life here.
This itinerary is valid for departures from 01 January 2017 to 31 December 2017. View the itinerary for departures between 01 January 2018 - 31 December 2018

Uzbekistan has been fabulously interesting country with so many layers of history. It is very safe and the people are so friendly and very proud of their country; go visit here before it becomes fully developed.
