We use our purpose-built overland vehicles for the duration of this trip. This multi-purpose truck allows for great game viewing with large sliding windows. As such the trucks do not have air-conditioning and conditions can be dusty and hot.
The overland vehicle is large enough to seat up to 22 passengers and carries all the camping equipment needed for the duration of this trip. Therefore the going can be slow over the long distances and often bumpy roads.
This is a participatory camping trip. You will be expected to set up and take down you own tent as well as assist with food preparation and cleaning.
Some passengers on this trip will have been travelling together prior to the start of your trip. To see what you're missing out on check out our Kenya to Cape Town trip.
As the early bird catches the worm, the early camper sights the animals. There will be many early starts either to make use of the better safari time or to beat the morning traffic on long travel days.

Our Zanzibar to Cape Town trips score an average of 4.9 out of 5 based on 10 reviews in the last year.
A long trip covering many miles, but an excellent way to see much of Africa, especially more remote places that may otherwise be difficult to travel to as a solo traveller. Highlights were the amazing wildlife, Victoria Falls, the dunes of Namibia, Cape Town and the African people.

I'm super glad I chose this trip as my way to explore and see Africa. Particularly as a solo woman traveller, you are instantly put at ease right from the start of the trip, feeling un safe is definitely not an issue anywhere along the line. All the experiences and things we saw blew my mind. The culture / people, animals and landscapes were all amazing. Africa really does have everything to offer and this trip provided it all. The crew and the group literally became one big family. And, Remember Africa is not a holiday, it is definitely an adventure!
