Why you'll love this trip
  • Spend a few days exploring Utah’s best national parks with a glamping base near Zion National Park, where you can end each night by your campfire under the stars.
  • Explore Lower Antelope Canyon’s almost supernatural appearance and learn about local history and culture from your Navajo guide.
  • Go hiking on leader-led trails through Zion National Park and Snow Canyon State Park, enjoying views of the massive canyon walls and red sandstone cliffs.
  • Take a walk through Bryce National Park and marvel at the unique sandstone spires known as hoodoos, that rise dramatically from the natural amphitheater.
  • Visit Best Friends Animal Sanctuary to meet their rescued horses, dogs, cats, bunnies, birds and pigs and learn about the incredible work they do here for animal welfare.
  • By travelling on this trip, you’ll learn about our Intrepid Foundation partner, the Grand Canyon Conservancy. Donations help them protect Grand Canyon National Park and support trail restoration, conservation of native plants and wildlife, and educational programs. Intrepid will double the impact by dollar-matching all post-trip donations made to The Intrepid Foundation.

Is this trip right for you?
  • The trip involves a lot of walking through national parks, so be prepared with hiking shoes, a water bottle and a day pack.
  • We will be travelling to the desert, which means it is often very warm during the day but cold at night, so pack the appropriate clothing for all weather.
  • This trip includes time spent travelling in a private vehicle with your group. Extra space can be tight, and conditions may feel a little cramped. It’s all part of the adventure and a great way to get to know your fellow travellers. Please read the itinerary carefully for travel time estimates.

This trip was 10/10. Perfect weather (early October). Age range 30s to 71. We had 7 in the group plus our awesome guide, Chloe. The itinerary is pretty packed especially the 3rd day bur everyone had a great time with lots of options on what to do/ hiking trails based on your interests and physical capabilities. Chloe, our guide, made sure we all understand our options and was extremely knowledgeable of the area as she grew up visiting this region. Loved this trip - kinda short now that I know more of what we can do this area.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Zion Ranch Trip. The itinerary was great and as described. Our tour leader Charlie was great. Well organised, friendly, informative, very professional and an excellent driver. The Ponderosa Ranch was very comfortable and a great base to return to each evening. The scenery was spectacular and every day we got to experience something truly amazing. This is my first Intrepid tour and hopefully many more to come.

The Zion Ranch trip is outstanding! I appreciated staying in one location rather than moving hotels every night and the Resort was wonderful. Out trip leader, Charlie, was well-organized, friendly, and had great stories that made the trip a richer experience. The itinerary was well-thought out and expertly chosen. We went to a gorgeous slot canyon that was under the radar rather than the overcrowded ones. The trip to Monument Valley and Navajo Nation was eye opening and unforgettable. And Bryce Canyon and Zion were breathtaking. This was my first Intrepid trip will not be my last. Thank you Intrepid for hiring local guides, organizing socially conscious trips, and creating a lifetime of memories.

This trip is a must do! The itinerary is spectacular and each stop is more beautiful than the last. It packs a lot in but the pace is great and the beauty is absolutely worth it. It was nice to be based out of one spot the whole time with easy day trips to the various parks.

Zion Ranch Stay may seem like a short trip, but we certainly had so many rich and rewarding experiences in those four days. We certainly made the most of our time and saw some of the most stunning sights in the Southwest: Zion, Bryce Canyon, Monument Valley, Horseshoe Bend and Peakaboo Slot Canyon. I would be hard-pressed to pick a favorite. Highly recommended. This is my second trip with Intrepid and I can't wait for my third. Best way to travel.
