To get to your Okavango Delta campsite, you'll travel by mokoro, a dugout canoe, to pass over the shallow waterways. Mokoros are small but stable, and local tribesman will be there to guide you.
Our purpose-built overland vehicles allow for excellent game viewing, equipped with large sliding windows. They have no air-conditioning, however, so they can get dusty and hot at times.
The going can be slow over the long distances and often bumpy roads. A little bit of patience will go a long way towards your enjoyment of this beautiful land!
This is a participatory camping trip, so it's important to embrace the team spirit and help with camp setup, food preparation and cleaning.
As the early bird catches the worm, the early camper sights the animals. There will be many early starts either to make use of the better safari time or to beat the morning traffic on long travel days.

Unlike some other tours, the mix of ages and small group dynamic on Intrepid really create a family atmosphere and bond travelers together. The stops and campsites are well planned out, and it’s an overall singular experience.

This is a fast paced no frills trip. I'm in my 50s and found myself quite tired sometimes but that aside it was so worth it. The camping was fun and having never camped I really enjoyed it. Be prepared for long bus days and early starts but also be prepared for the most incredible journey seeing amazing sights and vistas, wildlife, natural beauty, and if you get a good group like us...you will have fun! Patrick was great guide and Intrepid really look after you. Tips...don't bother with good clothes, most evenings spent round camp fire and no one cares what u are wearing, take Us dollars for Zim, embrace everything and enjoy the ride!
