A good level of fitness is essential, as there are a range of physical activities included (cycling from Ubud, hiking up Mt Batur and Mt Kelimutu and to Wae Rebo, and two included snorkelling trips).
There are some very early mornings to make the most of our days, including a 3am start to climb Mt Batu, Bring your alarm clock, and be prepared to catch up on sleep on the bus. The view at sunrise is well worth the effort, especially if the weather's fine!
Bali is blessed with a consistent climate for most of the year. However, the rainy season (usually October–March) brings frequent downpours. The good news is that these rainy bursts don't last long, and it is usually still warm.
There are some long travel days of driving by private transport in Flores and Bali (as there are no suitable public transport options available). Some of the roads can be quite bumpy as local infrastructure development is limited. We will make stops to break up the trip and it is a good idea to read or listen to music along the way.
The accommodation at Wae Rebo is basic village accommodation. Your group may join with other guests sleeping on floor mats inside the hut. There are shared cold water bucket showers available for your overnight stay here.
Accommodation in Flores in general is more basic than you would experience in Bali, as tourism is still developing.
There are two included snorkelling trips and you will need to be a confident swimmer to participate in these activities.
There are some included hikes, each a couple of hours uphill, and some walking in the dark before sunrise, so pack a headtorch and good walking shoes.

Explore Bali for the fun and adventure. Explore Flores for the dragons, snorkeling, Kelimutu, and beauty. Expert guides. Very special mention to Levi on the Flores section. Knowledgeable, talented and gifted. Thanks also to Tantan for Bali. Travelling with Intrepid is exciting. Breathe and enjoy.
