This trip gives you the opportunity to see the best of north India & Rajasthan with a little more comfort than our Original style tours. Enjoy daily breakfasts, plenty of inclusions and some truly special places to stay.
The magical splendour of the Taj Mahal is of course a must-see for any visitor to India. You may have seen hundreds of photos of it already but seeing this immaculate icon for yourself on a guided tour is bound to leave a deep impression.
If you're not a Bollywood fan already, you might just become one when you go to Jaipur's most spectacular art-deco Raj Mandir cinema to watch one of the latest local blockbusters.
Visit a family for dinner in Jaisalmer for a home-cooked meal and an evening of local culture, sharing food, customs and traditions with new friends.
See traditional arts and handicrafts first hand in the bazaars of Jaipur including block printing, carpet weaving, folk art and semi-precious stones – the regional specialty.
Sleep well and in style with 4 nights in beautifully restored former palaces and mansions and 1 night in a desert camp in comfortable permanent tents.
From April 2018, the main dome of the Taj Mahal will undergo mud pack therapy to restore its original colour. It is expected the dome will be covered in iron scaffolding during the process which is expected to last a year. There’s no reason to postpone your visit though! Our trip covers some huge distances, so be prepared for some long travel days and time spent on the journey between destinations. We use a variety of transport to get around, from train to private vehicles, auto-rickshaws and a flight. Pack light to make moving around easier!
Don’t underestimate the weather any time of year in India. In summer months, heat can be extreme. In winter months, some travellers have been surprised at the cool of the evenings. Bring clothes appropriate to the seasons. A hat, sunscreen and light long sleeves will serve you well year round.

This will be followed by the cleaning of the main dome but that could take some time as ASI is yet to calculate its load bearing capacity. The ASI’s science branch officials have stated that cleaning the four canopies will take approximately 2 months while main dome cleaning will be completed in phases. We will continue to update as information becomes available.
