Since there are potholes and cobblestones in many European cities, it's recommended that you leave any wheelie bags/cases at home and bring a backpack instead.
Summer temperatures can be extreme in many of the regions visited (over 40°C), which can be uncomfortable. It’s important to use sun protection, wear layers to combat the heat and drink plenty of water. Please carefully consider the time of the year you wish to travel and your suitability to that season.
As accommodation on this trip is twin-share, single travellers will share a room with another traveller of the same sex. This trip is a great opportunity to get to know other like-minded people, so embrace it while you can. However, if you’d prefer not to share, a single room supplement is available at an additional charge. Please ask your travel consultant for more details. Hotels in Europe often don't have double beds, but rather two single beds that can be pushed together.

You don't have a lot of time in Sofia and Dubrovnik at the start and the end of the trip respectively, so if you're keen to explore these spectacular cities in depth, we strongly recommend you arrive a day or two before the start of the trip and/or extend your stay at the end.
ITINERARY CHANGES IN 2019
In 2019 this trip will start in Skopje instead of Sofia, which we will no longer visit on this trip. Instead the trip will be staying in Skopje for an additional night and visit both Prizren in Kosovo and Matka Canyon as day trips. From day 4 the itinerary will revert back to normal. The length of the trip and day of departure remains unchanged.

Great overall trip especially as an introduction to the Balkans. Great tour leader in Bashkim Fazliu, fabulous guy and knowledge of the entire region is amazing. I would recommend 2-3 extra days in Bulgaria at the start of the trip and again in Croatia at the end. Try not to go in July or August - too busy especially in Montenegro and Croatia. Albania easily the most interesting of the countries. So much history, so much more to learn!
