Vietnam Discovery was a fantastic way to experience the country and its people. There are plenty of top activities and sights included in the trip, with optional add-ons. If I were to do it again, I'd definitely take an extra few days at the end of the trip to explore on my own (now that the guide had showed me the best places), and would likely include the Cambodia Intrepid trip as well; a few on our tour had done that, and I was kicking myself that I hadn't. There is a shorter add-on where you go to the very north of Vietnam, and that would have been great. As it was, we got to see a lot of the top spots in a time frame that would have been very challenging on our own, but the activities were well-organized, so they were spaced so we weren't overtaxed. Our tour was designed for responsible travel, and our travel dollars went to support locals, which I really loved; because of that, we were taken to more authentic places where we got to be among locals rather than hordes of tourists. We ate really well, whether or meals were included in the tour or not, as our guide pointed out local favorites as well as places we should avoid, safety-wise. This wasn't a typical tour, and felt like I was properly backpacking again... just condensed into a more manageable time frame, now that my schedule doesn't allow me to leave for months at a time.

Well organised tour in which many aspects of the country were experienced both in the cities & countryside. I loved the village homestays away from the beaten track of most tourists. Delicious local food & lovely people. Very much on the move almost every day but needed this to fit everything in. Hectic & bustling but fascinating cities....Saigon, Hue & Hanoi.Would have liked a bit more time on the beach at Nha Trang.A real taster of wonderful Vietnam , & its people.
