Why you'll love this trip
  • Discover the lush wildlife-filled landscape of Ngorongoro Crater with game drives in this ‘Garden of Eden’ – without doubt one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders.
  • Camp in the heart of Tanzania's oldest national park, the Serengeti. Explore timeless East Africa where endless savanna, bursting with predators and prey, offers the ultimate safari experience.

Is this trip right for you?
  • The rim of the Ngorongoro crater can reach up to 7,500 feet in altitude, which means you should be prepared for possible signs of altitude sickness.
  • On Short Breaks, you maintain a good level of independence and freedom, with the added bonus of having the details sorted out for you. You’ll have lots of free time and you won’t be accompanied by a Trip Leader. This means that all included activities and tours will be run by different local Intrepid partners, and these may operate independently from each other. The included activities and transfers will operate on a join-in basis, which means that you could have your Adventure all to yourself, or others may join you along the way. If you would prefer to travel in a group with a dedicated Trip Leader, just get in touch with your booking agent and they will take you through some alternatives.

A trip to the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater is not to be missed! Seeing wild animals in their natural habitat is enriching for both body and soul. Our guide was amazingly adept at spotting animals and anticipating their behavior so as to place us in the optimal position to observe them without disturbing them. Seeing these animals made us even more devoted to protecting them and their homeland. The Tanzanian goverment has done an impressive job in setting aside so much protected land for these amazing creatures. Each night, we stayed in lovely settings, either private cabins or tented rooms, both very comfortable. We would definitley recommend this trip to everyone!

Our experience of the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater was absolutely outstanding! Our guide, Godfrey, ensured we had a premium experience thanks to his guiding skills and knowledge of the areas. Accommodations in premium tent structures or lodges were amazing, and seeing an elephant outside our room while in the Serengeti was an unmatched experience! This short-but-sweet tour provided us with everything we could have wanted (and more) - including the Big 5, lions and leopards eating their prey, and even a glimpse of the annual zebra/wildebeest migration.
