The Mt Kinabalu trek is very challenging, including an altitude of more than 2,800 metres and an early morning to summit in the dark, so we recommend a good level of fitness to be able to enjoy this unforgettable climb.
The maximum luggage allowance for the internal flight is 15kg. Excess luggage will incur extra fees to be paid to the airline. We recommend packing light anyway – it means less to carry!

You will get to experience a wide range of accommodation types on this trip – some dormitory rooms in hostels, a homestay, guesthouses, jungle lodge and hotels. Some may be a little more basic than our standard hotels, but their unique location and close proximity to wildlife is what makes them special.

Due to the many hostels we use on the trip please note the following nights are the only nights where a single room is available, Day 1 Kota Kinabalu, Day 7 Kinabatangan River, Day 8 Sandakan, day 10 Sepilok and Day 11 Kota Kinabalu.

if you’re up for a true adventure and unforgettable memories this is definitely the right trip for you. it offers a wide variety of activities from climbing mount kinabalu to seeing the great wildlife northern borneo has to offer. there was so much to see and experience and i especially liked how welcoming and friendly the locals were which made you soon forget that you’re here only for a few weeks.
