Spend a full day exploring the floating islands of Lake Titicaca and Taquile Island, with the chance to meet the local Uru people
Due to the high altitude of many of places we visit, the air is thinner and some people can suffer altitude sickness. Some people aren’t affected at all, but if you are, be sure to drink plenty of water and don’t push yourself too hard. If possible, arrive a few days early to allow yourself time to acclimatise. Please see the ‘Health’ section of the trip notes for more important information about altitude sickness.

Majestic Peru-Intrepid provide a rich experience for learning about and seeing the local culture. We did and saw a number of amazing things. However, the itinerary was poorly planned-a lot of the time riding in buses and wasted time which could have been reduced by better planning on their part. Felt they tried to stretch out the days which could have been reduced by 2-3 days. Also we were only given a half day at Machu Pichu when we could have had a full day or at least more than a few hours. We were given a free day in Cusco the next day so it didn't make a lot of sense. I understand that they don't want people to linger in the park but then we were upsold-we were told we could also go the afternoon before in addition to our regular half tour day-at an additional expense to us of course-so it didn't make a lot sense. The tour was rated a 1 for difficulty-climbing steep steps/paths to the ruins and locales in the Andes at elevations above 10,000 feet is not a 1-it was deceptive on their part. It was winter in Peru-accomodations were not adequate for the winter conditions. The overall tour was excellent if you're interested in the overall cultural experience-if not, just go straight to Machu Pichu-stop at Arequipa on the way back-a better bargain for your time and money-and spend time in Lima. I wouldn't recommend the Majestic Peru tour-what ever tour you choose, look closely at the itinerary to see if it is what you are expecting.
