This trip can be enjoyed by just about anyone with a reasonable level of fitness.
There is quite a bit of walking involved in visiting Jordan's historic sites, especially in Petra and Wadi Rum, so a reasonable level of fitness is required. Most of the time there is no shade so remember to bring a hat, sun protection, and sturdy, comfortable walking shoes.
Winters can get quite cool, so if you're visiting at this time, don't forget to pack some warmer layers too.
In Wadi Rum we stay in a permanent tented camp with shared bathroom facilities. Please be aware that while the desert may be very hot during the day, it will still be cool at night and warm clothes and a sleeping bag is highly recommended when travelling outside of the summer months.

Jordan was everything I had hoped for and more. Petra was absolutely amazing (gave me goose bumps when I first saw it!), but there is SO much more to Jordan. Wadi Rum too was beautiful in it's ruggedness. The rock formations and different colour sands in the desert were breath-taking. The unique experience of staying in a Bedouin camp was also fabulous. The people are great & the food was good. It is definitely somewhere to put on the bucket list of places to visit before you die.

An amazing holiday! Jordan is a truly underrated destination! I was expecting magic at Petra, but even that was way more than I expected and there was so much else that I hadn’t factored in - from snorkelling from a private launch on the Red Sea to viewing the Promised Land as Moses had, to spending the night in a Bedouin tent in a landscape straight from the Star Wars set, to bobbing like a cork in the Dead Sea, it was a trip full of wonder!
