Egypt can get hot in the summer months of July and August, but this is normally a dry heat and easier to cope with than humidity. Where possible we try and visit sites in the early morning before it gets too hot.
Please note there maybe large crowds in Abu Simbel for the festival, you may be required to que and stand and wait until the temple opens. Patience will be required.
In order to arrive at Abu Simbel in time for sunrise we will travel in a private vehicle with a security convoy to Abu Simbel and return to Aswan via flight
Accommodation aboard the Nile cruise is based on full board basis – alcoholic drinks are offered in the bar area at additional cost. An evening entertainment program is also available on board.
Accommodation aboard the overnight train is in two-berth cabins which convert to bunk beds. All bedding is provided on board and western-style toilets are located in each carriage. Keep in mind general train cleanliness may not be to the same standards you are accustomed to.
The walkways around ruins can be uneven, dusty and rocky, so be sure to bring sturdy, comfortable walking shoes. At major sites such as the Pyramids, you can expect to be exposed to the elements at length, so be prepared with a hat, sunscreen and plenty of fluids.

Our trip to Egypt was so good I would have no trouble recommending travelling to this destination and especially with Intrepid. Friendly helpful people wherever we went obviously Intrepid are a leader in their field. Thank you for making our holiday such a great experience for the seasoned travellers in our group and people like us who have only just started experiencing travelling outside our comfort zone.

A great way to see the best bits of Egypt. Don't forget to bring a coat as it's surprisingly cold in Feb.
