Why you'll love this trip

  • All aboard for a week in paradise. If there’s a better way to check out the historic towns, protected forests and stunning islands of Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast then we haven’t seen it.

  • Car-free Lopud is a pedestrian paradise in the Insta-worthy Elafiti Islands.

  • Go wild in the untouched forests of Mljet, which haven’t been spoilt by busloads of tourists.

  • Visit Odysseus Cave where, according to legend, the king of Ithaca once found refuge after surviving a shipwreck.

  • Chill out in Korcula, swimming through coves ad lounging in the shade under olive trees.

  • Row, row, row your boat… from Vis Island to the eerie, magical neon glow of Cave Bisevo’s blue grotto.

Is this trip right for you?

  • As the majority of this trip takes place on a sailing boat, you’ll need to feel comfortable with moving about the vessel, including the use of stairs. With that said, sea legs come naturally to some but not so much for others. Your friendly crew will be able to help with the effects of sea sickness if needed.

  • A Zodiac is used to transport passengers from the boat to the mainland, with landings taking place at piers (dry landings) as well as on beaches (wet landings). Zodiacs can sometimes be awkward to climb in and out of, but a sense of humour and can-do attitude is all you need.

  • This is an adventure on board a real yacht, which means living spaces, cabins, bathrooms and showers need to be shared with other passengers. Sleeping quarters can be quite compact, but you will be spending the majority of your time above board in the open air.

  • Time on the water also means time in the sun. Remember to pack sun protection, such as sun screen and a hat, and drink plenty of water to keep hydrated. See ‘Essential Trip Information’ below for a full packing list.

  • Please note that smooth sailing is dependent on the weather, so itinerary changes may occur at the last minute if the weather becomes unfavourable. If any changes are made, you can trust in your knowledgeable skipper to choose an alternative route or activity.

  • Due to the size of the yachts, sound carries easily from one side to the other and can wake your fellow travellers. If you’re planning to have a late night, it’s a good idea to head into town and experience the local night life.

Itinerary

Dobro Dosli! Welcome to Croatia. Your adventure begins with a group meeting with your skipper at 3 pm at 'Pizzeria' next to the ACI Marina reception, Dubrovnik. The first port of call is then the local supermarket to buy supplies for your trip as a group. If you have any special dietary requirements, please make sure you notify us at the time of booking so we can accommodate your requests. Then, it's time to set sail to the charming islands of Elafiti, where you’ll pull up in a small bay and snorkel in crystal-clear waters. Elafiti is made up of three main islands: Kolocep, Lopud and Sipan. Kolocep is known as the green island because of its 100 year old pine groves, carol-trees, olive groves and citrus trees. There are also two villages to explore here – Donje Celo and Gornje Celo. Lopud has spectacular parks and beaches and is one of the best developed touristic islands in the Dubrovnik area. The island is also home to several monasteries and ruins to explore. Sipan is the largest of the island group with a long history full of stories and legends and considered one of the jewels of the area.

If possible, we highly recommend you arrive a couple of days early into Dubrovnik as this trip only has one night in port before setting sail. The undisputed jewel of the Dalmatian Coast, Dubrovnik is a beautiful white stone town surrounded entirely by city walls. Although it experienced devastation during the war in the early 1990s, the old town – with its tiled roofs and stone buildings – remains as charming as ever. Extensive restoration has taken place to return it to its original splendour, and even today repairs are still being undertaken. With the sparkling water of the Adriatic in the background, Dubrovnik is picturesque, full of character and can easily be covered on foot. After boarding the boat, leave the mainland shores and sail the open waters of the Adriatic to the hidden paradise of the Elafiti Islands.

Special Information
Your skipper will collect the trip kitty of 755 Kuna [approx EUR100] at the pre-departure meeting today.

The beauty of sailing is that each day is unique and, while we have a destination to reach, if the weather changes or something takes the group’s fancy, we are flexible on the day's itinerary. The itinerary is subject to change and may vary depending on weather. Your skipper will make the final call to ensure your safety at all times.
Set sail for the Insta-worthy island of Mljet (four to five hours), where ancient legend says shipwrecked Odysseus lived for seven years. Today the island is a haven of lush national park, forests and tiny villages. It’s had quite the chequered past, and has been inhabited by Illyrians, Romans, Slavs and Avars. Catch your reflection in inky blue lakes on a guided tour through the national park. Wander beneath cool pine forests, through epic chasms and gorges, and discover ruins such as the remains of an Illyrian fortification, a Roman palace and a 5th-century church. In the evening maybe kick back with a glass of local wine – an important local industry, which you might have guessed from the fields and vineyards that cover island.
