Visit Cambodia on a food tour from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap
Forget any resemblance to the cuisines of Vietnam, Thailand and Laos; Cambodia has a unique and ancient food culture that is truly exotic. Using pepper rather than chilli to add spice, Cambodian cuisine is laden with fresh herbs, spices, rice, freshwater fish and condiments. And while there are influences from French and Thai cooking, Cambodian food has a style and flavour all its own. While travelling from Phnom Penh through to Siem Reap, discover the sights, sounds and flavours of Kampot, Battambang, Banteay Chhmar and Angkor Wat, and marvel at a cuisine, culture and population so special that you will very quickly be won over for life.
Discover Cambodia’s vibrant culinary scene, the incredible tastes and smells and Khmer food that are often overshadowed by neighbouring Vietnam and Thailand
Get an insight into Cambodian cuisine with a visit to famous pepper plantations outside of Kampot, and taste the best pepper in the world
A homestay in the village of Banteay Chhmar puts you right in the heart of rural life in Cambodia
Dine on local favourites by torchlight in the atmospheric grounds of a ruined Angkorian temple
‘Eat for a cause’ with dinner at a Phnom Penh restaurant that not only serves delicious modern Cambodian cooking, but helps the local youth too
Select your own crab and have it cooked up fresh while you look out across the Gulf of Thailand at the Kep Crab market
This trip aims to give you an exciting, diverse and well-rounded experience of Cambodia's cuisine. While we endeavour to cater for specific dietary requirements, some meals and food activities are set in advance and may be difficult to adjust. If you have dietary requirements, simply contact your agent at the time of booking for further information on how this may impact on your ability to take part in included activities and meals. Come with an open mind and open mouth, and you won’t be disappointed!
This trip involves a long day of driving from Phnom Penh to Battambang. Cambodian roads can also be rough and bumpy, and delays are sometimes unavoidable. A dash of patience will go a long way toward your enjoyment of this beautiful country!
The facilities at your homestay in Banteay Chhmar are simple – a thin mattress on the floor, with pillow and mosquito net provided. Bathroom facilities at homestay are shared and often consist of an Asian squat-style toilet. However, the rewards of such an authentic local experience are immeasurable.
Cambodia can get very hot, and even temple-hopping can take it out of you quickly. Remember to use sun protection and drink plenty of water.

Cambodia’s real food adventure tour is for anyone who appreciates culture, and who wants to widen their window of comfort when it comes to seeing the world for what it is. This is a trip designed to make you stop and pause. How do you live within your values? How do Cambodians overcome difficult times? What is the nature of suffering And it’s usefulness on ones soul. These are major life questions that the trip makes you think about on a unconscious level. It was here that I learned to come out of my comfort zone and witness the amazing spirit of the Cambodian people. Truly a trip of a lifetime and so needed in my life. Thank you Dino for inspiring us all. You were a terrific leader with loads of experience both personally and professionally.

As an older woman, travelling on my own, I was delighted to find such compatible fellow travellers, a well-planned culturally-oriented itinerary and an outstanding guide. We were blessed with great weather and I thoroughly enjoyed all of the activities -- especially the bike-riding which was fun and easy....and I am not a regular cyclist. I would travel with Intrepid again in a minute! Thank you.
