How to get to Paro<\/h3>\n

Paro Airport is Bhutan\u2019s only international airport. Its two national carriers are Drukair<\/a> and Bhutan Airlines<\/a>. There are several cities to fly from, but the most common flights depart from Bangkok, Delhi, Singapore and Kathmandu. Select the Asian city that works best for you and search for flights on both of the airline websites. You can book directly online, or ask your travel agent to book your selected flight and a flight from home to the connecting city. Stopover cities: where should I fly from?<\/h3>\n

Stopovers can be an inconvenience \u00ad\u2013 but they can also be an opportunity to experience a new Asian city. Allow yourself an extra couple of days for a bustling contrast to the serenity of Bhutan. Your stopover city might be determined by price, or it might simply be about finding a balance between cost and convenience, but here are some additional tips to keep in mind:<\/p>\n

The prettiest<\/strong>: Fly from Kathmandu for spectacular views of Himalayan peaks \u2013 aim for a seat on the left-hand of the plane; this is where all the action is.<\/p>\n

The cheapest<\/strong>: Good news for fans of epic views! Flying in from Kathmandu is also generally more cost effective.<\/p>\n

The most frequent<\/strong>: Bangkok has the most frequent flights into Paro and depending on where you\u2019re coming from, it\u2019s easy to fly directly to, so it\u2019s often the stopover city of choice for Bhutan.<\/p>\n

The unpredictable weather of an alpine environment can cause flights to be delayed, so ensure you have several hours of transit time in your selected city on the way home.
