Donate just 1% of your trip cost

One per cent doesn’t sound like much. In the scheme of things it’s a tiny fraction, a small portion of a much bigger whole. But that small portion can have a big impact when it’s channelled in the right direction. And that’s where you come in.

When you travel with Intrepid, you’ll now have the option to donate 1% of your trip’s cost to our not-for-profit organisation, The Intrepid Foundation at the time of booking. That 1% may be a moment’s thought for us, but it represents a lifetime of positive change for others.

What is the Intrepid Foundation?

We established The Intrepid Foundation in 2002 with a simple mission: to invest in grassroots projects in the regions we operate. In the 12 years since, we’ve raised over $4 million for more than 75 not-for-profit organisations in over 25 countries.

You can still donate to the foundation at any time via the homepage. 100% of your donation will go to your chosen recipient (we cover all the admin costs) and Intrepid will match your donation dollar for dollar*.

How can I donate?

If you’re booking a trip online, keep an eye out for the 1% donation option during checkout. If you’d like more information about the foundation, its projects or your chances to contribute, check out The Intrepid Foundation or contact us at with any questions.

What projects will my money support?

The foundation supports over 70 non-government organisations all over the world, providing resources for projects in health care, education, gender equality, human rights, child welfare, sustainable development, environmental conservation and wildlife protection. Here are a few examples of the projects it supports:

HUTAN – Kinabatangan Orangutan Conservation Program

Endangered Bornean Orangutans are only found in the rainforests of Borneo. As their habitat shrinks, HUTAN work closely with the Sabah Wildlife Department (SWD) to identify and understand the complex threats they face, and develop innovative solutions to protect them. Learn more

All Ears Cambodia

Of the thousands of Khmer children in need of hearing aids, less than 1% have them. The foundation works alongside local NGO All Ears Cambodia to support the prevention and treatment of ear disease and to combat deafness among the country’s poor. Learn more

Amani Children’s Home

Poverty, domestic violence and the constant threat of HIV/AIDS mean the number of street children in Tanzania is growing daily. The Amani Children’s Home rescues hundreds of orphans and streets kids, providing much needed education, support and medical care. Learn more
