Days 1-2 Ho Chi Minh City
If arriving early, explore the diverse range of sights in Ho Chi Minh's tourist spots, get a birds-eye view from a rooftop bar or slurp a steaming Vietnamese pho at a street stall. Delve into an underground world of guerrilla warfare in the incredible Cu Chi Tunnels before visiting the War Remnants Museum.

Days 3-4 Hoi An
Make tracks to Hoi An and discover centuries-old temples, charming houses and gilded community halls. The many art galleries, shops and cafes are also a great way to while away time in one of Vietnam's most charming riverside towns.

Days 5-6 Hue
Enjoy a stop at picturesque China Beach en route to Hue. Sense the spirits of the Nguyen dynasty while exploring intricate tombs, palaces and pagodas within Hue's crumbling citadel walls. Take in the peace of this area while cruising on the calm waters of Perfume River.

Day 7 Hanoi
Arrive in Hanoi, Vietnam's enthralling capital city, and enjoy a hearty breakfast at KOTO restaurant. Head to Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum to rub shoulders with locals who pay their respects to the country's revolutionary leader here. Afterwards, perhaps head to the evocative Old Quarter to discover exotic smells and intriguing sights.
Day 8 Halong Bay
Head out on an overnight Halong Bay cruise on a private junk boat. Floating on turquoise waters which flow between the stunning weathered limestone peaks, is one of the real tour highlights.

Days 9-10 Hanoi
Back in Vietnam's capital, there's free time for some optional last minute activities including a cyclo tour or shopping expedition. Or simply relax with a bia hoi in an atmospheric street cafe and recount highlights of a memorable trip.
