If arriving early, explore the diverse range of sights in Ho Chi Minh's tourist spots, get a bird's-eye view from a rooftop bar or slurp a steaming Vietnamese pho at a street stall. Then, delve into an underground world of guerrilla warfare in the incredible Cu Chi Tunnels.
Make tracks to Hoi An and discover centuries-old temples, charming houses and gilded community halls. The many art galleries, shops and cafes are also a great way to while away time in one of Vietnam's most charming riverside towns.
Continue on to Hanoi, Vietnam's enthralling capital city, and embark on a guided tour of the major sights including the Temple of Literature, Hoan Kiem Lake, Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and the historic Old Quarter. Later, enjoy lunch at KOTO cafe and maybe take in a performance of the unique Water Puppets.
Embark on an overnight Halong Bay cruise aboard a traditional junk boat. Float across turquoise waters that flow between the weathered limestone peaks and secluded lagoons on what is sure to be a highlight of the tour.
Back in the city, choose to visit one of the many fascinating museums or just kick back with a bia hoi in a streetside bar and recount highlights of the trip.
