Itinerary

Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City and get acquainted with this bustling city of 6 million people. Undoubtedly one of the best ways to experience the hum of city life is by foot. Why not wander the streets to check out vendors spruiking their wares on the footpath, or stroll through the buzzing aisles of Ben Thanh and Cholon markets. Those craving a dose of history or architecture can venture to one of the many ancient pagodas, mosques and cathedrals scattered around the city. While here, be sure to sample some of the French-influenced cuisine - the coffee and baguettes are superb.
Weave through Ho Chi Minh City’s narrow side streets on a morning walking tour of Chinatown. Stop off at enchanting Thien Hau pagoda, built in the early 19th century and dedicated to the goddess of seafarers. Devour local specialities during lunch at a traditional Vietnamese restaurant. Learn more about the Vietnam War on a visit to the War Remnants Museum, where a collection of military relics is housed. In the afternoon, admire stunning examples of French colonial architecture, including Reunification Palace (formerly the Presidential Palace), Notre Dame Cathedral, the General Post Office and the Opera House.
Perhaps snaffle some bargains at the markets, glide along the Saigon River on a boat, or whiz through the streets on a cylo - a great way to take in more sights and sounds - before this Ho Chi Minh City Break comes to an end.
