Arrive early to explore the chaotic capital of Vietnam. Hanoi is an alluring city of contrasts, best discovered on foot. Walk along Hanoi's pagoda-studded lake and perhaps visit some of its rich cultural sights.
As the former imperial capital of Vietnam, Hue holds the treasures of Vietnam's royal past and is a curious mix of bustling streets and tranquil settings.
Indulge in the riverside delights of beautiful Hoi An. Quaint, yet with an air of French chic, spend some time meandering around the Old Town of this graceful city. Famous for its quality tailors, why not get measured up for a suit, dress or a new pair of leather shoes – with a turn around of 24 hours, it would be mad not to make the most of this shopping paradise.
Time for some well-deserved rest and relaxation in the beautiful coastal town of Nha Trang. Grab a snorkel and head out to sea in search of crabs, seahorses and the rare zebra moray eel. Otherwise spend the day on land, worshipping the sun, eating fresh seafood and resting up before another ride on the Reunification Express, headed for Ho Chi Minh.
Hectic, gritty and full of surprises, explore Ho Chi Minh City with a local to discover the secrets of this bubbly metropolis. Perhaps head to the Cu Chi Tunnels for an intriguing history lesson on Vietnamese guerrilla warfare tactics, before taking a trip to the War Remnants Museum. For a little rest and relaxation, why not head to a local pho house for a bowl of slurpy broth, or sit back and watch the world go by from a terraced balcony with a refreshing Vietnamese ice coffee in hand.

Overall I found the trip good, but on the lower end of good. I felt out tour guide Vu, was great, couldn't fault his enthusiasm, and he actually made changes to the itinerary based on what we wanted to do! The problem I found was that as a budget traveller, little consideration was given to prices of restaurants! It was supposed to be a 'basix' tour, so surely some understanding to different budgets would be appropriate. I was shocked to find that due to at times HAVING to eat in the same restaurants and not given a choice I spent more money in Vietnam than in Kuala Lumpur, a major city! Towards the end I was having to go into these restaurants with my tour group, and have a drink and that was it! Or not eat dinner at all to save money! Wasn't particularly nice!

The tour group was very small which I found a bit disappointing as I love the social aspect of a tour. There was also the impression that the leader was just marking time till he finished as it was the last tour of his rotation before his week off so sometimes getting inofrmation or help was a bit difficult
