Add to Shortlist

Days 1-2 Rome

Italian’s are the masters of creating simple dishes that sing with flavor. Regional, seasonal and as fresh as possible, Italy’s cuisine is hearty, satisfying and made with heart. Inspired by the kitchens of the nonna, Italy’s food is authentic and surprising – pizza and pasta are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the diverse array of unforgettable food you’ll find throughout Italy.

Days 3-4 Assisi/Spello

Explore an agriturismo and witness the regional tradition of olive-oil pressing. Head to ‘the jewel of Umbria’ for a tour of the local wineries and try tasty regional dishes that sample the best produce in the area, including truffles and cheese.

Days 5-6 Bologna

In the region famed for introducing bolognese sauce to the world, participate in a cooking class in the heart of a local food market after sampling Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese and Prosciutto di Parma of the Emilia-Romagna region. Travel to an acetaia (vinegar loft) to learn about the production of Balsamic vinegar.

Day 7 Venice

Wine and dine on delicious regional seafood in Italy’s most romantic city. Take a fabulous cicchetti (Venice’s answer to tapas) tour. Wind through ancient streets, taste local specialties and take a step through history at each restaurant and bar visited.

Day 8 Marca Trevigiana/Venice

Head out into the agriturismo-rich area of Marca Trevigiana, famous for its sparkling Prosecco wines and divine local produce. Savour Monte Cesen’s delicious mountain cheeses on a visit to a local cheesemaker before visiting Cesare de Stefani’s salami ‘factory’. Stop in Treviso to sample the delectable gelato at Il Gelatiere. What's your flavor – chocolate, lemon, ricotta-infused fig jam? Warning: one will not be enough. See how this award-winning ice-cream is made and taste the delicious results. If you still have room, dine on a feast of Venetian specialties later in the day.

Day 9 Venice

Chat to local farmers and follow your nose to the fish market all before breakfast begins. Then perhaps finish up this delicious adventure over an espresso and one of Venice’s sublime tiramisu.
