This trip involves some long bus and train rides, which can be tiresome but offer a quintessential Indian experience.
Sleeper trains are clean and air-conditioned and a great way to travel long distances while still getting maximum time in each place. Beds are padded berths with sheets, pillow and blanket provided (although some people prefer to bring their own sleeping sheet). Please note that you may be sharing with locals of the same or opposite gender. For your own security, take a lock for your hand luggage.
We visit a number of temples on this trip, which requires a certain level of modesty. Please bring clothes that cover the arms and pants/skirts that go past the knees. A light scarf is also a good idea for covering shoulders and arms when it’s hot.
Depending on the time of year, temperatures in northern India can get very hot and very cold. Please bring layers and a range of adequate clothing, including thermals and sun protection.
When camping in the Thar Desert, you’re truly in the middle of nature, so conditions are basic and there are no toilet facilities. Please bring water, face wipes, hand sanitizer and any other supplies you may need.
You will also be travelling by local bus on this trip. While conditions are basic, this is a great way to rub shoulders with the locals while enjoying the passing scenery.
This itinerary is valid for departures from 01 January 2018 to 31 December 2018. View the itinerary for departures between 16 December 2016 - 31 December 2017

Go with an open mind and you'll have an amazing tme. Hopefully you'll meet great people along the way. Do your research and know which month you want to visit. Ask questions and if you read the trip notes you can't go wrong. Had never travelled with Intrepid before but would definitely recommended this tour and would happily book another!
