Please be aware that in recent years there have been times when restrictions on nationalities being able to travel on specific departures have been implemented or Tibet has been closed to foreign tourists without warning. 3. Due to a Landslide blocking the Sun Kosi River and the Kathmandu-Tibet highway near Lamosanghu, this itinerary will run on an altered itinerary until further notice. Days 1-2 Kathmandu

Kathmandu is like an alluring whirlwind of sights, sounds, smells and colors. Almost overwhelming, its charm and history peeks out from the most unexpected places rendering most visitors enamoured.

Days 3-7 Lhasa

Colourful, historic and with a deeply fascinating culture, the holy city of Lhasa is situated in a small valley high on the Tibetan Plateau.

Day 8 Gyantse

Gyantse is an agricultural town set in the Nyang-chu Valley, famed for its wool carpets and the Pelkhor Chode Temple complex.

Day 9 Shigatse

Sitting at the confluence of two rivers, Shigatse is a bustling, dusty city home to some fantastic monasteries, fortresses and palaces.

Day 10 Sakya

Located in a valley off the Friendship Highway, Sakya is a small town with unique architecture and a beautiful monastery.

Day 11 Everest National Park

The site of the world's highest monastery, Rongphu is home to around 50 monks and nuns who live and worship in this stunning location. As one of the world's big challenges, Mount Everest evokes visions of beauty, danger, awe and triumph. Standing close to this mountain is certain to leave you breathless.

Day 12 Nyalam

With a name that means 'gateway to hell' in Tibetan, Nyalam is a fast-growing town not far from the Nepali border.

Day 13 Bhote Kosi River

Clinging perilously to the sheer mountainside, Zhangmu separates Tibet from Nepal by a cascading river that spans the famous Friendship Bridge.

Days 14-15 Kathmandu

With the two sister cities of Bhaktapur and Lalitpur (Patan) close by, Kathmandu has a wealth of sights to explore, markets to discover and places to relax in.
