Days 1-2 San Francisco

Explore California’s much-loved city by the bay. Take in San Francisco’s famous landmarks, including Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge, on a city tour. Ensure those camera batteries are fully charged and head east to Yosemite National Park.

Days 3-4 Yosemite National Park

Spend the next few days enjoying Yosemite’s jaw-dropping wild beauty. Set in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, no one can fail to be entranced by the astonishing setting. Set off on two wheels to explore the forests, rivers and lakes. Follow paths in search of majestic waterfalls and the almighty granite walls that make it a rock-climbers’ paradise.

Day 5 Great Basin

Cross the Tioga Pass for an awesome view of Yosemite and enjoy the unforgettable sight of Mono Kake on the descent. Set up camp in a remote setting in the Great Basin Desert, which stretched across Nevada into neighbouring Utah.

Days 6-7 Zion National Park

Be amazed by the pink sandstone cliffs in this stunning national park. Explore the miles of hiking trails, enjoy heart-stopping views throughout Zion’s fairytale landscape and cool off with a swim in the Virgin River.

Day 8 Bryce Canyon National Park

Next stop is the wonderful landscape of spires and strange orange and red rocks known as ‘hoodoos’. Best explored on the Navajo Loop trail, trek amongst these unusual natural formations before camping amidst Bryce Canyon’s surreal landscape.

Day 9 Lake Powell

Relax after the excitement of the last few days. Splash around in this lakeside haven between Utah and Arizona and enjoys its sandy beaches and exceptional scenery. If the kids are restless, why not take advantage of some of the water sports available, such as waterskiing and wakeboarding.

Day 10 Monument Valley

Get an insight into the Native American culture in this land considered sacred to the Navajo people. Explore the classic cowboy country of Monument Valley, the setting for numerous ‘westerns’, and camp in this magical and iconic natural wonder.

Days 11-12 Grand Canyon

Saving the best until last, take in the splendour of one of this site considered one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Hike along the rim to enjoy breathtaking views of this almighty gorge. Perhaps, for a truly memorable experience, cement this visit forever in the family’s mind with a scenic flight across the canyon.

Days 13-14 Las Vegas

Swap the natural colours enjoyed so far for the bright lights of Las Vegas. Wander along Sin City’s famous Strip, be awed by the ostentatious hotels and lavish casinos and enjoy a glamorous finale to this epic American adventure.
