Day 1 San Francisco

Day 2 Mendocino

With its lovely ocean views and an eclectic mix of galleries, shops and restaurants, the historic seaside town of Mendocino has long been popular as an artists' haven.

Day 3 Redwood National Park

Nestled in the foothills of the Oregon Cascades, Silver Falls State Park's walking trails take hikers through forested canyons to some of the park's 10 beautiful waterfalls.

Day 7 Mt St Helens

The site of a major volcanic eruption in 1980, today Mount St Helens is home to a dramatic landscape of hardened lava with an almost out-of-this world feel about it.

Day 8 Mt Rainier National Park/Seattle

Considered one of the most dangerous active volcanos in the world, Mount Rainier is covered with breathtaking glaciers and wildflower meadows teeming with life. Hip cafes, quirky galleries and a vibrant live music scene, Seattle's edgy culture offers everything you would expect from the birthplace of grunge.
